PetFill & LawnReborn
PetFill
If you have a dog and your synthetic lawn is installed without PetFill®, you are virtually guaranteed to have a smelly backyard.
This is caused by dog urine soaking into the silica sand infill which is spread on top of the synthetic grass. The urine then works its way through the grass backing and into the cracker dust/crushed blue metal base then eventually into the earth below.
This means the problem isn’t actually caused by urine being absorbed into the synthetic grass blades & backing. It’s caused by a build-up of urine in the silica sand infill and the base. This results in the formation of ammonia gases which cause an unpleasant smell.
PetFill® solves this problem by absorbing the urine before it reaches the backing & the base. PetFill® is scientifically proven to have a high ammonia binding capacity. It absorbs the urine into its molecular structure and prevents the ammonia from forming an unpleasant smelling gas.
Product Features:
In most cases, the application of PetFill® to your artificial grass will eradicate any smell but, in some instances, you may need Hinto’s back-up product, Lawn Reborn™ which destroys the bacteria which can cause a secondary smell
Product Benefits:
PetFill Application
PetFill® has been designed to replace the traditional sand infill that goes on top of synthetic grass.
For the best results and for ease of application, PetFill® should be applied dry, onto a dry synthetic grass surface. For these reasons PetFill® should always be stored in a dry place.
Once the artificial turf has been installed and is secure (joins taped and edges pinned), apply PetFill® as follows:
Step 1
*The more PetFill® applied, the more efficient it will be.
Step 2
Once the PetFill® has been spread evenly over the artificial turf, use a stiff, plastic bristled hand broom and gently work the PetFill® into the grass against the turf fibres. The PetFill® will eventually disappear into the bottom of the thatch fibres (sometimes it may take a couple of weeks to settle and you may find that you need to give it a top up once this has happened). A power broom can be used but care needs to be taken not to flick the PetFill® out of the lawn area
We recommend wearing a dust mask whilst handling and applying PetFill®.
Storage: Store covered in a dry place.
Lawn Reborn™
Unfortunately, if you have a dog and your synthetic grass hasn’t been installed using PetFill®, it will probably develop an extremely unpleasant odour.
Lawn Reborn™ substantially neutralises & reduces the smell of dog urine on synthetic lawn. This smell is caused by 2 factors: ammonia in the urine (which is dealt with by PetFill®) & any subsequent bacterial growth which may occur. Although we would recommend that for optimum results PetFill® should be applied at the time of installation of your synthetic grass, Lawn Reborn™ has been designed to work either with, or without, PetFill®.
Lawn Reborn™ is an enzyme product which destroys the bacteria that cause bad odours from your artificial lawn. It’s a high performance, non-toxic and 100% biodegradable multiple enzyme solution, manufactured from a unique blend of naturally occurring multi-enzymes, fermented natural products, essential nutrients and surfactants. Lawn Reborn™ doesn’t just mask the smell, it attacks & eliminates the cause.

Follow-Up Treatments:
We recommend applying Lawn Reborn™ in the cool of the evening to delay evaporation.
