From time to time, we’re asked how to deal with ants on artificial lawn.

Based on publicly available information, products like Mortein Nest Kill Ant Baits (or any other type of enclosed bait for ants), placed near the ant piles or mounds would be our first suggestion. This is because they’re designed to kill the nest or colony of ants rather than just the ants that come into contact with the bait.

Because these baits are enclosed, they have less likelihood of damaging the surface of the synthetic grass. Care must still be taken that the baits aren’t accessible to pets. We would also recommend that the baits are removed as soon as the ant activity ceases.

How to Treat Ants on Synthetic Grass - Green Planet Grass

We don’t recommend that standalone liquids and powders are placed directly onto the surface of the artificial grass. However, these products can be placed in a dish or container that allows access to the ants.

You must take care that the product can’t be easily disturbed by people pets or rain while they’re in use. Once again, these containers should be removed after the ants have been dealt with.

At Green Planet Grass our Australian Made synthetic lawns don’t look like fake grass.
